 SBDC staff
provides technical assistance through free, confidential
counseling in various business areas such as business
planning, financing, management, marketing, advertising, and
record keeping.
The business consulting services are conducted by
professional counselors, who can evaluate an existing
business's operations, or a startup company's business plan
with fresh, yet experienced eyes. They work closely with
clients to develop their business plans and loan proposals.
Small Business Development Centers do not charge for their
consulting services and can meet with clients at the center
or at the business site.
The SBDC also provide small business training programs to
meet the individual community's needs. The SBDC holds
numerous workshops and seminars on business-related topics
throughout the year; the SBDC offers training in an
incredible array of topics, ranging from pre-business
planning to marketing, bookkeeping, accounting, and
management. These seminars are designed for new and existing
small business owners and managers to acquire the
information that they need to make their business more
successful. Workshops are reasonably priced to enable all
potential participants to attend.
The SBDC staff works closely with clients to develop
their business plans and/or loan proposals. They guide
start-up and existing business owners through the business
plan process and assist them in compiling the necessary
